The Portfolio Diagnostic helped to prioritise & optimise the current portfolio and use this to support a 20% increase in budget.
We agreed strategic themes and linkages and were able to assess how the portfolio was enabling our strategy.
We appointed an empowered group to review, assess & make timely and regular decisions in addition to communicating & manage changes. This made a huge difference to accuracy & execution.
The use of the Portfolio Diagnostic provided us with an effective method to calculate our change impact. We were then able to assess this on a multidimensional basis, we can slice/dice views - strategic goal, business unit, region etc.
We designed a pragmatic governance model for new initiatives and changes to existing initiatives. We agreed mandatory assessment criteria for all proposals specific to our organisation
There were examples within the portfolio of us 'doing agile', but we wanted to 'be agile' as an organisation. We designed appropriate governance that was more responsive and we started to adopt an OKR approach for the portfolio and an MVP approach for delivery and realisation.
